"THE HORSE WHISPERER"

One of the best movies I have ever experienced watching is called “The Horse Whisper”.  The movie was originally a novel written by Nicholas Evans.  The movie is based on the book and was directed by Robert Redford, who also starred in the movie.  The term “horse whisperer“, also known as natural horsemanship, is a collective term for a variety of horse training techniques which have seen rapid growth in popularity since the 1980’s.  A horse whisperer develops a rapport with horses, using unique communication techniques.

The movie centers around a mother’s frantic attempts to save her only daughter after she survives a near fatal riding accident that claimed the life of her daughter's best friend.  Though her daughter and her horse, Pilgrim, survived the accident, they were both severely injured and are now having a very difficult time dealing with the aftermath of the accident.  The mother feels that Pilgrim must be saved in order for her daughter to have closure and to help her deal with the hand that life has dealt her.  Therefore, the mother enlists the help of the “horse whisperer” played by Robert Redford.  The movie cast also includes Sam Neill, Dianne WiestKristen Scott Thomas, and Scarlett Johansson.  This is a must see movie.

For those that have never seen this movie, Eccentric Thrifter has a copy of it for sale.  You can click on the above link and it will take you directly to her store.  For those that have seen the movie, you should stop by her store and check her out.  She has a lot of great merchandise for sale.

    1. I have to admit that when I picked it out to watch, I expected something different myself. I am glad that I did watch it and really got caught up in the healing of the horse. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.
