My Best Friend

I have been a loner most of my life. My parents and relatives were always strict on who I associated with when I was growing up. At times it left me with no one but myself to occupy my time. So, during my childhood I grew up friendless. Though I lacked having human friends, I found the best friend I could ever have was a pet. They love you unconditionally, follow you wherever you go and are always there to cuddle with. So, in my old age, I again find that my best friend is now a Doxie.

She is very needy and needs love constantly, but I have a lot to give her. We snuggle under the covers at night and she keeps me warm. She warms my heart with her sweet face and childish ways. I love the way she pokes her head out from under the covers when she wants to spy on me. When she wants attention, she rolls over on her back and waves her paws at me. This is her way of letting me know she wants a tummy rub and of course I always accommodate her. Most of us have a pet to cherish and we love them just as we do our children. We also love taking pics of them and showing them off,  just like we do our children.
